Product Discovery


Scott led product discovery in the early 2010s, helping startups and nonprofits to uncover new opportunities. In the later 2010s Scott helped introduce product discovery to the UK government, reviewing over 50 discoveries for new digital public services. He now helps clients across sectors to improve their approach to discovery.Scott has a 40 minute discovery talk covering how to avoid falling in love with solutions, and how to avoid falling in love with problems. Scott is author of 'Product in Service'. In his book he provides an alternative to one-size-fits-all product operating models that rarely work in the messy reality of modern organisations, instead sharing pragmatic approaches to product management.Scott has a 40 minute talk covering the problems with product operating models, a more flexible product mindset, and guidance on how to define what a product is. Speaker Bio


Scott’s led digital strategy, transformation, and product for over a decade. He helped shaped product management in the service sector, co-writing the product management role for the UK Government and contributing to the Government Service Standard. He used this to introduce outcome-based investment review in a public service setting. Scott founded the Product Leaders Network, the largest network of its kind with over 130 product leaders in the service sector.
